A petrol tanker loader with fully loaded was involved in an accident on Monday. The vehicle was said to have runs into many vehicles in Gbagada-Iyana Oworo area of Lagos State.
According to report from online source, the accident happened around 5pm. About six vehicles and a tanker loaded with 33,000 litres of diesel were involved.
Other vehicles involved were a Toyota Corolla, Honda Accord, Toyota Highlander. two Toyota Camry cars and one Mazda car.
Reaction by Emergency Management Agency says the petrol tanker was suspected of a break failure
According to the General Manager, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Adesina Tiamiyu, the accident happened because of a suspected brake failure on the part of the petrol tanker.
“The petrol tanker was suspected to have had brake failure and as a result of that, it rammed into nearby vehicles. Emergency responders were immediately activated to the scene.”
Report says the emergency responders that finally attended to the victims at the instance included the police. Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, Federal Road Safety Corps and the Lagos State Ambulance Service.
